stomach-pain

Stomach pains can be tricky as it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact location or what is causing the discomfort. Even though you may not know exactly what is causing your abdominal pain, you should never ignore it and hope it just goes away.

What to Do If You Have Stomach Pains

Sharp Pains

Any time you begin to feel sharp pains in your stomach, it can be worrisome. The location of the pain can be a good indication of the problem. If you begin to feel pain in the center of your abdomen around your belly button, and it begins to radiate into the lower right side, you could be experiencing appendicitis. If left untreated, your appendix could burst and lead to severe problems.

If the sharp pain originates in the upper right side of your abdomen, however, it could mean gallstones. Some other symptoms to be aware of is dark colored urine, fever and jaundice.

Pain Located in the Back of the Abdomen

Abdominal pains that originate in the back can mean kidney problems. A kidney infection is derived when bacteria have traveled from the bladder to the kidneys. Other symptoms would include nausea, vomiting and a burning sensation when using the bathroom. If you feel that you may have a kidney infection, it is important to visit your local quick care facility to get an examination.

Bloating Sensation

A common form of abdominal pain is a bloating sensation. This can be caused by many different factors. One of the most common reasons for this is excess gas build up. This can lead to severe stomach pains as the pressure begins to build in your abdomen. You can also experience bloating if you have irritable bowel syndrome or are experiencing menstrual issues. One popular over-the-counter remedy is peppermint oil capsules.

If you feel yourself having stomach problems, it could be a sign of a bigger problem. Don’t get stuck waiting and schedule a same-day appointment with Las Vegas Urgent Care through our Quick Care Pass.
