Our hands come into contact with things that are dirty all of the time. Whether it is answering the phone, opening a door or placing our hand on the escalator handrail, we are constantly exposed to germs. As a result, proper and regular hand washing is important. Do you know how to effectively wash your hands? Here is a quick tutorial. If you have children, we recommend that you teach them, as well!
Wet your hands and forearms with running water (warm or cold, it does not really matter).
Lather well (you want to get the soap foamy).
Rub your hands vigorously together for at least 20 seconds (sing the ABCs or Mary Had a Little Lamb slowly all the way through).
Dry your hands with a clean or disposable towel or air dryer.
Use the towel (or your elbow) to turn off the faucet.
Wash your hands regularly to help prevent the spread of illness—either to you or others.
