People consider spring to be allergy season. However, some people suffer from allergies year round. For millions of people, each season brings in new dust and pollen that will cause sneezing attacks. Allergies can be really inconvenient for the working person. You could be in an important meeting when everything gets disrupted by your five minute long sneeze fest. There are some home remedies you can do to prevent your allergies from running your life.

Wash your nose out with a saline solution. You can buy special made saline solution at your local drugstore. You can even just use regular water. It won’t be quite as effective, but it will still get most of the dust out of your nose. It is recommended that you do this at least once a day. If your allergies are particularly bad, it won’t do any harm to do this multiple times a day.

The news keeps track of pollen rates each day. Check the pollen counts before leaving the house. If they are especially high, you may want to consider staying indoors. Sure, people have to go to work and get stuff done. If your allergies are acting particularly bad one day, you may want to call in sick to work. If that is simply not an option, wear a face mask when you walk outside. Check all the windows and doors in your office or home to ensure that no excess pollen will get in. Avoid going to places that have cigarette smoke. In Las Vegas, going to a casino could make your allergies act up. If you can avoid going to a casino at all costs.

Hot peppermint tea can ease your suffering of allergies. The tea will provide relief for a clogged up nose. The different oils used in peppermint tea can act as a decongestant. Certain ingredients in peppermint contain anti-inflammatory constituents.

Steam your face. The hot air will loosen up even the worst congestion. It may take some time for you to feel better, but it will be worth it. Keep your face over a steamer for about 10 minutes. This should be long enough to ease your allergies. If it still hasn’t worked after 10 minutes, keep the steamer over your face longer. It won’t do any harm.

It might be a good idea to remove your carpet and replace it with wood floor or tile. Carpets can hold a lot of dust mites. You are likely to busy to keep up with vacuuming every day.
